All Care of Barry recently took its first tentative steps towards a return to some much-needed social activities for people supported by the agency.
Managing director Keri Llewellyn said: “A hidden gem on our doorstep, the South Wales Aviation Museum (SWAM) opened its huge hangar doors exclusively for a socially distanced afternoon tea which was attended by some individuals we support, staff and younger family members.
“As well as individually guided tours by enthusiastic volunteers keen to share their aviation knowledge, we enjoyed afternoon tea of the highest quality, served in fine china.
“Nothing was too much trouble for SWAM’s manager Rachel and her team. The afternoon was brought to life by the vocal group, ‘Midnight Martini’s’ who serenaded us through the afternoon with old favourites.
“Another local group – ‘The Vale Ukulastic Band’ – continued the musical trip down memory lane. I should very much like to thank everyone who contributed to making this day the very special event it was. For me, the smiling faces and requests to return said it all.”
