Mayor presents Ruth and James with civic gifts live on Heart radio
THE MAYOR of Barry, Councillor Catherine Iannucci-Williams, was delighted to visit the Heart radio studios in London’s Leicester Square to present civic gifts to the creators of Gavin and Stacey.
Ruth Jones and James Corden were guests on Heart Breakfast with JK and Emma Bunton on Christmas Eve. During their interview, they were surprised with a visit from the Town’s Mayor to present them with a commemorative plaque and tankard, plus the Mayor’s Christmas Card, as an official thank you from the town of Barry. The stars spoke fondly of their affection for Barry, and Barry Island in particular.
Councillor Iannucci-Williams said “It was a great privilege to be able to represent Barry and officially thank them for putting Barry on the map. It was great to hear them championing our local businesses. I hope they use the tankards to toast the final episode on Christmas Day.”
