Penarth Open Gardens day raises cash for children’s charity
THE gardeners who took part in this year’s Penarth Open Gardens Trail were delighted to present a cheque for £6,300 to The Children’s Society, the proceeds from the 2025 event. A really staggering amount.
The Children’s Society chief executive Mark Russell made a special visit to Penarth to meet Ann Lush, MBE, hon-vice president of the Children’s Society and chair of the Penarth fundraising committee. He was delighted to meet the garden owners who had supported the weekend of horticultural delight by opening their gardens to the public.

Over 500 members people visited the trail, buying cakes, jams, preserves and plants while enjoying the beautiful garden, relaxing with a tea or coffee. Our grateful thanks go to the public who supported the day.
Next year is a special year, as it will be the 30th year of the trail and Penarth gardeners will be working hard to make it a huge success. If any Penarth residents would like to support us by opening their garden, then please get in touch by emailing
