A 19-YEAR-OLD man from Cadoxton has been ordered to pay £3,000 compensation and carry out 100 hours of unpaid community service after he pleaded guilty to committing a serious assault.
Luke Salvage appeared before Cardiff Magistrates’ Court for a sentencing hearing after previously admitting a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm committed during an attack in Barry on 19th September 2025.
Magistrates ordered Salvage to pay £3,000 in compensation to his victim, with the first monthly instalment of £300 due on 7th September.
The magistrates did not impose a surcharge or prosecution costs because compensation to the victim was given priority.
Salvage must also carry out a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement, and magistrates also granted a restraining order that will remain in force for two years.
