SPORT – Barry RFC back in action on Saturday:
With no game at the weekend due to the Six Nations, Barry RFC will be back in action for the first time in three weeks when the Bombers travel to Cambrian Welfare on Saturday, 18th February for an Admiral National League One East Central fixture.
Barry will be aiming to shrug off the home 27-14 defeat, at the hands of Rhydefelin in their last league fixture, and looking for a double over Cambrian Welfare, who were beaten 29-22 at the Reservoir Field on 1st October.
Barry’s Youth team takes centre stage at the Reservoir Field on Saturday when Pontypridd are the visitors for a WRU Admiral Youth League Cardiff Premiership Blue fixture. Barry will be bidding for a double, having won 50-12 at Pontypridd on 7th January. The match has added significance, with the teams meeting in the quarter-final of the WRU National Youth Cup at Barry on 4th March, a final opportunity for both clubs to weigh up their last eight opposition.
Barry Youth, unbeaten in their three Premiership Blue fixtures, top the table. Their match at Gwernyfed last Saturday (11th February), was called off by the hosts who were unable to raise a team. Barry now wait to find out if they have been awarded the match, or if a new date for the fixture has to be arranged.

An evening of tales from tours, stories of playing for the Lions, and the joy of representing Wales over the years, starts at 7pm, and will include a raffle.
