Bridgend’s Christmas lights switch-on event

CHRISTMAS officially starts in Bridgend on Saturday, 29th November with the Christmas Lights Switch-On Event organised by Bridgend Town Council.

This event has been held.

The festive fun starts at 1.30pm when the Elf School will open – come as yourself, leave as an elf!  Zack Franks will host the Entertainment Stage featuring the Snow Sisters, Louise Halliday, Oldcastle School Choir, performers from Bridgend Youth Theatre and The Dance Centre Academy.

There will be photo opportunities in two giant Snow Globes, a Victorian Puppet Theatre in Carnegie House, Fairground Rides and Christmas themed side stalls.

Look out for The Grinch, who will be causing mischief around the town centre along with Santa’s mischievous Elves, who will checking if children have been naughty or nice before Santa arrives! All your favourite Princesses and Superheroes will also be in town throughout the afternoon.

Meet at the stage from 4.45pm for the countdown to the big switch on at 5pm!

All activities are FREE so visit Bridgend town centre from 1.30pm on Saturday, 29th November to enjoy all the fun.

Christmas Grotto dates

Santa’s Grotto will be at Carnegie House again this year from 10am – 3pm on Saturday 29th November, Saturday 6th December, Saturday 13th December, Saturday 20th December.

For £8 per child, children will meet Santa, choose a quality gift and you can take your own photos. Bookings can be made in advance here.

Santa‘s Grotto is run by The Lions Club of Bridgend in Carnegie House and is supported by Bridgend Town Council. All proceeds of the Christmas Grotto will be distributed to local Charites by the Lions Club of Bridgend.
