Cardiff Half announces big change

THE success of the Cardiff Half marathon has meant that the organisers have decided to make it a ballot, rather than the ‘first come first served’ basis that has operated until now.

The ballot will be similar to successful events such as the London Marathon. This year’s run, which takes place this coming Sunday, sold out in 12 hours when tickets went on sale last year.

Race organisers have said they made the decision to ensure fairness and to balance local runners, charity runners and those completing the SuperHalfs series.

The ballot is already open and will run until midnight on Sunday 19th October. Runners can enter the ballot through the Cardiff Half website.

Everyone who has entered the ballot will receive an email with the results on Thursday 23rd October. They will need to enter their payment details but will only be charged if they succeed in getting a ticket.
