THE team formerly known as Cogan FC has acquired a new name, and a new sponsor.
In tribute to the famous Greek side Panathaniakos, they will be playing in the Cardiff Lazarou Sunday League as Penarthinaikos FC and their new sponsor is the Penarth book shop, Griffin Books.
Mel Griffin said: “I’ve known many of these lads since they were at primary school with my son Tom, and they are all still good friends.
“Young people have had a particularly hard time during lockdown and the benefits of team sport for their physical and mental well-being are well known, so really it was a no-brainer.”
