GVS pledges to become dementia friendly
Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) has made the pledge to work towards becoming a dementia friendly organisation.
The Dementia Friendly initiative was created by the Alzheimer’s Society and aims to support people affected by dementia to live well by remaining active and integrated within their local community for as long as possible.
A spokesperson for GVS said: “GVS will work in partnership with Dementia Friendly Vale, Alzheimer’s Society and Marie Curie to become dementia friendly.
“GVS will achieve this by supporting its staff to increase awareness and understanding about the needs of people affected by dementia and create a dementia friendly organisation environment.”
