Graffiti culprit captured
A SOUTH WALES police appeal has resulted in a teenager voluntarily attending Barry police station to admit to graffiti.
CCTV images were issued of individuals wanted in connection with graffiti in Barry and Penarth.
They were seen on camera using spray cans to graffiti the tag ‘SOSO’ in the Holton Road of Barry area during the evening of Thursday 13th May.
This tag and others including ‘BBS’ and ‘DESSO’ have damaged a number of properties recently causing considerable expense for the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
As a direct result of the CCTV appeal, a 16-year-old boy from Penarth has voluntarily attended Barry Police Station. He fully admitted spraying the ‘SOSO’ tag and apologised.
The matter is now being considered by the Youth Offending Team.
A South Wales Police spokeswoman said: “Graffiti is a real blight on our community and we are grateful for those who shared our appeal and contacted us with information.”
