How All Saints pupils Remembered

Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day services

The All Saints Church in Wales Primary School Ambassadors recently attended the Barry Royal British Legion Annual Schools Remembrance Service at Barry Cemetery.

This poignant event was led by Father Chris Seaton, the Hon Chaplain to the Barry Royal British Legion, and was an opportunity for the students to honour the sacrifices made by those in the Armed Forces.

The service began with a solemn procession where an outdoor Service of Remembrance took place. They planted crosses, each symbolising a life lost in the pursuit of peace and freedom.

The All Saints Church in Wales Primary School wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Roy and Teresa Goodwin from the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, Barry and Area, for their kind invitation to this significant service. The collaboration between the school and the Royal British Legion not only fosters a sense of community but also reinforces the vital importance of Remembrance in our lives.

Also, on Monday, 11th November, the school held its own service to mark Armistice Day. Pupils from year-5 took part in a service at All Saints Church, led expertly by Mr Chris Chaulk and The Rev Canon Zoë King.

As a school, we feel deeply honoured and blessed to take part in these services, recognising that it is not only important but our duty to continue to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The words, “When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today,” resonate profoundly with our children and staff alike.
