THE Macmillan’s Coffee Morning is the biggest fundraising event to support people living with cancer.
People all over the UK host their own coffee morning and donations raised on the day are made to Macmillan.
A coffee morning can be whatever you want it to be. It could be at home, on your driveway, a hall or online, whatever suits you best. You can hold a garden get together and throw a barbeque, or treat your colleagues to some homemade bakes, or even get together with friends for a takeaway.
In 2022, Macmillan raised over £12 million and the charity hopes to top that this year.
When is Macmillan’s coffee morning?
The official date of the coffee morning is Friday 29th September 2023. This doesn’t mean these popular events can’t be held at other times of the year. Fundraisers can host a coffee morning whenever it suits them best.
How you can get involved
Whatever your reason to host, no reason is too big or too small. All you have to do is sign up to host a coffee morning here and Macmillan will send a fundraising kit with top tips to get started.
How did it all begin?
The first Macmillan Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, we did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £290 million for Macmillan.
