A DRUGS dealer from Barry has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison after undercover police officers spotted him selling crack cocaine.
Michael Cross is the latest person to be jailed following a coordinated month-long operation by officers from South Wales Police (SWP) to disrupt county lines drugs supply.
Cross was arrested in June after the plain clothed officers witnesses him selling drugs to a woman near to his flat in Osprey Court.
Upon arrest, Cross tried to discard two street deals of crack cocaine which were recovered by SWP officers. More crack cocaine was later found at his home address.
A phone seized from Cross led officers to Jack Thomas (27) of Hilda Street in Barry who was arrested a month later and charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine. Following pleading guilty at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday 19th September, Thomas received a 30-month custodial sentence.
On Tuesday (1st October) Michael Cross, described by SWP as a runner for Thomas, was also sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court and jailed for 29 months.
