OGMORE’S Jack Tudor has landed one of the top jobs in horse racing by being named as stable jockey to leading National Hunt trainer David Pipe – son of the legendary Martin Pipe.
Tudor, 20, who learned his riding skills in pony and point-to-point races in the Vale of Glamorgan, takes over the role from the likes of AP McCoy, Richard Dunwoody and Peter Scudamore.
Tudor was full of praise for Ogmore-By-Sea trainer Christian Williams, who gave him his early chances and he was just 17 when he won the 2019 Welsh Grand National on Williams’s Potters Corner.
TIM’S 129 – 1 DOUBLE
HAVE horses will travel is certainly the motto of Cowbridge trainer Tim Vaughan. He recently had a 129-1 double when on the same day he scored with 9-1 chance Kalpaga at Hereford and 12-1 shot Silver Disguise at Wetherby. The former, ridden by Alan Johns, won the mares’ handicap hurdle and the latter, partnered by Charlie Price, won the handicap chase.
