Winter Fuel Support Scheme opens
Eligible households across the Vale may from today (13th December) claim a one-off £100 payment from the Vale of Glamorgan Council to provide support towards paying winter fuel bills.
The scheme is open to residents where one member is in receipt of certain welfare benefits, and is available to those claiming support at any time between 1st December 2021 and 31st January 2022.
£38 million has been made available through the winter fuel support scheme, and is part of a combined support package of over £50m.
The payment will be available to eligible households regardless of how they pay for fuel, and includes pre-payment meters, direct debit or quarterly bills.
The scheme is open to households where one member is in receipt of certain welfare benefit:
Income Support.
Income Based Job Seekers Allowance.
Income Based Employment and Support Allowance.
Universal Credit.
Working Tax Credits.
