A 23-YEAR-OLD MALE from Barry has received a suspended prison sentence after he attacked a man at a block of flats and then posted a picture of his wounded victim on social media.
Taylor Miller appeared at Cardiff Crown Court where he admitted a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm during an attack shortly after midnight on 20th September 2025.
Prosecutor Emily Jermin told the court that Miller turned up at the victim’s flat and punched him outside the building before tackling him to the ground in the hallway. Miller then kicked him and stamped on him at least twice.
The victim suffered a bleed on the brain, swelling and multiple wounds to his head and face, bruising to his chest and back, and a reduced level of consciousness.
Ms Jermin said the victim woke up at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff with no memory of the attack.
Following the attack, Miller posted a picture of his bloodied victim on Snapchat accompanied by the caption: ‘That’s what happens when you touch my family’.
Adam Sharp, mitigating on behalf of Miller, told the court his client had no previous convictions, but stated that his presence at the flat was “wholly unnecessary”, that his actions were “wholly unacceptable”, and he described what happened as a “flashpoint”.
Mr Sharp said: “This was the first occasion in which he’s been before the court. He’s a gentleman of clean character. This is an out-of-character incident in the moment.”
He added that Miller had not reoffended in the 11 months since the attack. Miller has played football in the Vale of Glamorgan League for Barry Vikings (BV) and Vale Madrid, where he was part of the Championship (second tier) league winning side in 2024/25.
Passing sentence, Judge Eugene Egan said that Miller turned up at the victim’s home to “teach him a lesson” and had taken the law into his own hands. He said: “The red mist descended upon you that night.
“Subsequently and shamefully, you posted on social media bragging about what you had done.”
The judge sentenced Miller to 15 months imprisonment, suspended for two years. He must also complete a nine-month alcohol treatment requirement, along with 240 hours of unpaid work, and a 20-day rehabilitation activity programme.
Miller is also forbidden from contacting the victim for seven years, and he was ordered to pay him £1,000 compensation.
