Pupils brave the icy waters

SIXTH FORM pupils braved the cold sea just before Christmas to raise money for charity!

On the final afternoon of the school term, they ran into the sea on Barry Island’s Whitmore Bay for the annual tradition, appropriately called ‘Brrrrro’.

This was the 10th year of the sponsored event and the Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg pupils raised over £600 for their chosen charity this year, Velindre Cancer Centre.

 And they’re off… Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg pupils raised over £600 for their chosen charity this year.

Mr Rhys Angell-Jones, headteacher at said: “What a perfect way to the end the term by raising money for a special charity to us.

“Our sixth form pupils play a vital role in the community and this once again proved their commitment to help others and raise money for important charities.”
