Pupils set questions for new board game

Four Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg pupils have been chosen to feature in a new family board game. The pupils have written questions for the board game Hyderus which is now on sale at all major retailers.

In an assembly, year-9 pupils were asked to think of suitable questions for the board game Hyderus. Hyderus is a new bilingual board game and is a development of the first board game from the company, called Confident which has been extremely successful already.

Morgan Beasley, Mabli Vaterlaws, Osian Phillips and Georgia Steer-Colman, all year-9, each suggested a successful question, and now their names feature in the new board game.

The aim of the game is to guess an answer to the questions with the smallest range. Whilst Morgan asked the question ‘how many pupils study A level?’, Georgia asked ‘what is the population of North Wales?’.

Of the experience, Morgan Beasley said, “I’m very proud of my achievements. I’m looking forward for people to play the game and read my question aloud!”

Mr Rhys Angell Jones, headteacher at Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg said, “It is great to see our pupils contribute to this bilingual game with interesting questions.

“I’m sure that this game will appear in many homes for Christmas and our pupils’ names and questions will be read around Wales and further! Well done them.”

Ceri Price, co-owner of Confident Games, said, “Congratulations to Morgan, Mabli, Osian and Georgia for their contribution.

“We received over 500 suggestions from pupils all over Wales and narrowed these down to the final 20 to feature in the game.”
