House full at Barry church for Christmas concert
'St John's Methodist Church - absolutely full'
THE Barry Community Choir held a Christmas concert recently.
The choir was joined by the junior choir of Cadoxton School, led by teacher Eleanor Thomas. The children sang their hearts out and were a credit to their teacher and school. Also performing was young Joe Phillips – a very talented pianist still attending school in Cowbridge. He weaved a spell over the audience and received rapturous applause.
The choir also warmly welcomed Sian Davies as as their regular accompanist was ill. It was lovely to see the Church – St John’s Methodist Church – absolutely full.
Choir members are having a few weeks off after a busy season but will be back rehearsing on Wednesday, 10th January.
Details of the choir are on its Facebook page and website. A spokeswoman said: “We are always looking for new members – could joining us be your New Year’s resolution?”
