THE Church of Holy Cross in Cowbridge was recently packed with parishioners to celebrate the retirement of Rev Victoria Ashley.
After the service held on Sunday 19th January, the congregation enjoyed wine and a buffet. Writing in the parish newsletter, Rev Ashley reflected on her time in Cowbridge.
“We have both loved our time living and working in Cowbridge and will miss so many people and so much about our lives here.
“Arriving in Llandaff Diocese at the same time as a new bishop, I quickly found myself with additional tasks and a special mention here for all those whom I have met in the farming, agricultural and rural communities. Thank you for welcoming me into your world and helping me to learn about the difficulties and the joys of all that you do day by day to contribute to feeding the nation. I will never complain about a tractor again!
“Thank you to everyone over the 7-plus years who has offered help, advice, fellowship and friendship.”
