Local music teacher Caroline Greenwood said: “Special thanks to all those who helped on the days especially Elinor MacNamara and Sally Tarlton for their delicious cakes and tea making, and to my harp students Bryn Wardhaugh, Brenda Hennessey, Mali Tuckey, Gwenda Fitzpatrick, Sian Walters, Ffion Pritchard and Awen Duggin for providing the celestial calming musical entertainment.

“Even in these difficult financial times for so many, the public were so generous with their donations. It was lovely to receive a visit from Kanishka Narayan, the Welsh Labour Parliamentary Candidate for the Vale of Glamorgan. He wasn’t there to canvas the public and he put his hand in his pocket.”

The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 private gardens in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, and raises money for nursing and health charities. The core beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.

The National Garden Scheme doesn’t just open beautiful gardens for charity – they are passionate about the physical and mental health benefits of gardens too.
