Barry into round two after walkover

BARRY RFC First XV are through to the second round of the Admiral National League Division Two Cup. The Bombers were due to visit Division Two East Pill Harriers in the first round on Saturday, but the Newport-based club pulled out of the competition on Friday, giving Barry a walkover.

After victories in their first two league matches, Barry will be aiming to make it three on the bounce when they visit Ynysybwl on Saturday (10th October). The Bombers will be renewing acquaintance with former rivals, the Bulls, having been relegated from Division One at the end of the 2023-24 season.

‘Girls in Rugby’ week

*Barry RFC Islanders are supporting the ‘Girls in Rugby’ week with an open day on Thursday, 22nd October, a free chance for girls to try rugby, meet the team and have some fun. No experience is needed.

There will be two sessions at the Reservoir Field, for school years 2-5 from 5.30pm to 6.15pm, and from 6.15pm to 7.15pm for years 6-9. For more information, contact Steph on 07780 460325.

October Camp

*The Molitika Rugby Academy is running an October Camp at Barry RFC on Monday, 28th October, an opportunity for under-7s to under-14s to get active, develop their rugby skills, build confidence and make new friends in a fun, supportive environment.
