MS pledges continued support for Vale residents

Your Voice in The Senedd by Reform UK MS Dr Gareth Thomas

HOUSING, additional learning needs and access to local services remain among the key concerns being raised by residents with Dr Gareth Thomas MS and his constituency office.

Dr Gareth Thomas has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting families and individuals across the Vale as his office continues to deal with concerns affecting local communities.

Housing remains a particularly important issue, with families approaching the office after facing no-fault eviction proceedings and the prospect of having to leave their homes.

Some families have also raised concerns about the level of support they feel they are receiving from the Vale Council, adding to the anxiety and uncertainty they are already experiencing.

Dr Thomas said: “Housing problems can place enormous pressure on families, particularly when they are facing the possibility of losing their home. My office will continue to support residents who come to us for assistance and, where appropriate, raise their concerns with the relevant organisations.”

Education also remains high on the agenda following the start of the new school term.

“I hope all our children and young people are settling well into their new classes and schools, and I wish pupils, parents and school staff all the very best for the term ahead,” Dr Thomas said.

Support for children and families navigating the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) systems continues to be a key concern.

Dr Thomas is planning a special event for families experiencing difficulties with ALN/SEN support, providing an opportunity for families to raise the issues they are facing. Further details of the event will be announced.

Regular constituency surgeries will also continue to be held across the Vale, with dates and locations publicised in advance.

With the clocks going back by an hour at the end of October and darker evenings approaching, residents are also encouraged to report problems with street lighting and other local issues.

Dr Thomas added: “Being accessible to residents is extremely important to me. Whether you have a concern about housing, education, street lighting or another issue affecting you or your community, please get in touch with me and my office.

“I will continue to work hard to support residents and families across the Vale.”
