PUPILS in years 5 and 6 at All Saints C/W Primary School enjoyed an unforgettable day of skateboarding recently, thanks to a series of exciting sessions delivered by Sam from Skateboard Academy UK.
The workshops, which ran throughout the day, introduced students to the fundamentals of skateboarding in a safe environment.
Sam, an experienced instructor, worked with small groups of pupils to build their confidence step by step. Sessions began with essential safety tips and balance exercises before moving on to pushing techniques, ramps, and simple tricks.
For many pupils, it was their first time stepping onto a skateboard. “It was amazing! I was scared at first, but Sam showed us how to do it step by step,” said one year-5 pupil. “By the end I didn’t want to stop!”
Miss Gilbert, year-6 teacher, praised the workshops for helping develop resilience, focus, and physical coordination “Skateboarding isn’t something many of our pupils have tried before. It was brilliant to see them supporting each other and pushing themselves to try new things.”
To wrap up the event, Sam put on a spectacular skateboarding demonstration in the afternoon. Children gathered to watch as he performed flips, jumps, and technical tricks, showing just what is possible with practice and dedication.
Mr Ashworth, deputy headteacher, said, “We’re always looking for ways to broaden our pupils’ experiences. Bringing in Skateboard Academy UK allowed us to offer something truly different and memorable.”
