PENCOED RFC held a grand opening of the club’s new bar room on 3rd October.
The club were able to have a refit which highlighted 135 years of rugby history, with past and present players coming together to celebrate great achievements. Pencoed has produced four British Lions players, Scott Gibbs, Gareth Thomas, Gavin Henson and Gareth Cooper.
There have been Welsh internationals too, in union including Tommy Reffell, Sam Costelow, Kayleigh Powell, Mel Clay and in league Lauren Atkin and Leanne Burnell to name a few. President Terry Rees, a former player himself, opened the evening.
The new modern bar has all the facilities of a sporting, family club and there was a warm welcome to all who walked through the doors. Pencoed wish to thank everyone involved in support, time and efforts over the last few weeks to get this on target for the new season ahead and good luck to all the teams.
