SPORT | Back to business for Barry RFC:
Barry RFC will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday (7th January) when they host table-topping St Peter’s in their first Admiral National League Division One East Central fixture after the Christmas and New Year break.
The Bombers won their opening four fixtures, but have lost the last three by narrow margins, and The Rocks can be expected to provide a stern test to start the second half of the season, the first of four matches in January.
There are two other home fixtures during the month, the return derby against Dinas Powys on 14th January, and against Rhydyfelin on 28th January. In between those two, Barry visit Porth Harlequins on 21st January.
For various reasons, no team in the division completed the scheduled 10 league fixtures prior to the break. Barry had three games postponed during that period.
One, the visit to Rhiwbina, has been rearranged for Friday, 24th February. The match will be played under the lights on the Cardiff University 4G pitch the night before the Wales v England Six Nations fixture.
The league visit to Rhydyfelin and the home fixture against Porth Harlequins have yet to be rescheduled.

Barry’s Youth team kick off their WRU Admiral Youth Cardiff Premiership Blue league campaign on Saturday (7th January) with a visit to Pontypridd, giving both teams a first opportunity to cast an eye over their opponents in the National Youth Cup quarter-finals.
Barry are in a five-team group, which also includes Gwernyfed, St Peter’s and Treorchy. The teams play each other home and away. The return fixture with Pontypridd is on 18th February. The National Youth Cup clash is at Barry on 4th March.
Barry’s other league fixtures are on: 14th January, St Peter’s H;28 January, Treorchy H; 11th February, Gwernyfed A; 25th March, Treorchy A; 1st April, Gwernyfed H. The return match at St Peter’s is scheduled for 4th March but will have to be rearranged because of the National Cup clash.
