Police appeal following four vehicle arson attacks

POLICE have issued an appeal for information following a spate of arson attacks on four vehicles in the Vale of Glamorgan.

South Wales Police (SWP) believe the fires were started deliberately during the early hours of Saturday 21st December between 1.50am and 2.10am.

One of the cars damaged belonged to a woman who had died just two days earlier.

Two of the vehicles were on Stacey Street, Dinas Powys, another on Cross Common Road, Dinas Powys, and the fourth on St Andrews Road, Wenvoe.

SWP Detective Sergeant Dave Nugent said: “Being a victim of car crime at any time is upsetting, costly and an inconvenience.

“But to happen so close to Christmas, particularly for the gentleman who is still grieving the loss of his wife, is particularly devastating.

“This is very unusual for the area, and we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.

Anyone with information or CCTV footage that could help police identify those responsible is asked to contact SWP quoting ref: 2400420523.
