Vale of Glamorgan Football League round up

Sparta Park take early League One lead

Premier Division: A dominant display from Barry Athletic saw them demolish Vale Madrid 6-0 and stay top with four wins from four. Toby Gent hit a hat trick for the league leaders. 

Reigning champions Cardiff Airport Reserves also maintained their perfect record as they edged past Cwm Talwg 3-2, Lee Stradling scoring the winner 10 minutes from time.  

St Athan climbed the table with a strong home win by defeating Vale United Reserves 4-1. 

There was a big result for Cadoxton Imps, beating one of the early front-runners as they pipped Penarth Town 3-2, Dean McCarthy scoring the decisive goal in the 85th minute. 

Island Marine fought back from two goals down against AFC Rhoose to earn a hard-fought point in a 2-2 draw. 

Championship: Cogan Coronation Reserves moved up to third place as they defeated Island Marine Reserves 4-3 in the most dramatic of fashion, 16-year-old George Shugar coming off the bench to score a 94th minute winner. 

Cardiff Airport Vets eased to 6-2 win over Peterston super Ely. Casey Thompson starred with two goals and set up two more. 

Porthkerry Panthers picked up their first win of the season as they thumped St Athan Reserves 4-0, Jake Davies scoring twice. 

Cowbridge Town and Vale Athletic shared the points in a 1-1 draw. 

League One: Sparta Park made it five from five as they walloped Vale of Glamorgan Rovers 6-0, Gareth Griffiths rolling back the years with two goals, teeing up two more. 

Barry Athletic Development came back from 4-1 down to run out 5-4 winners against Llantwit Major Thirds in the most stunning comeback. Harvey Rollinson hit the winner deep into time added on. 

FC Barry bounced back from a heavy defeat last time out to beat Holton Road Reserves 4-1 to go third. 

Leo Cummins scored twice as Penarth Town Development saw off Sully Sports Development 4-2. 

It was another late show as Island Marine Development grabbed a 4-3 win over Cadoxton Imps Seconds, with Louis Frost scoring in the 97th minute, completing his hat trick. 

Ely Rangers Wenvoe picked up their first win of the campaign with a comprehensive 5-1 over St Athan Development, Isaac Kahar scoring a hat trick.
